I get asked about stretch marks nearly every week.  I have two children and each time I was pregnant my belly just could not cope with all the stretching. It was itchy and very sensitive. I wish I knew then what I know now.  One of the main things I learned is to make sure you are getting enough zinc and magnesium. Zinc deficiency is one of the main reasons for stretch marks.  Both are very important for pregnant women internally as well as for mood. Oils are great to keep the skin supple and moisturised, even very simple like coconut oil. This is the simplest and it’s affordable and safe!

You can also make a salve or balm. These are just very basic mixes of oils and beeswax. You melt both in a double boiler and pour them into a glass container.  Try infusing the oil with calendula for an extra boost, calendula is calming and encourages cell renewal. A little wheat germ will also carry these beautiful compounds into the lower dermis for deep skin nourishment.
